Cuba Trip #4
Day 3 (Last Night)

So on the last night i always give my group a Free Night

We had just passed out the Cuban Cigars at the Lobby of the Convent

I had suggested to the group to eat at any restaurant in Old Havana, walk down to the main tourist street and hail down a Taxi and ride along the Malecon, or just walk the streets of Old Havana on a Sat nite and shop...etc

Jim and I were still FULL from lunch, so dinner was NOT important.  We went back to "our happy place" the Beer Garden near the Convent in Plaza Vieja, Havana, Cuba.

most of the group decided to eat dinner at restaurant ride next to the Convent.  Cindy and Vern walked down to the street to get a horse and carriage....they rode down the main street near the cruise ships.  They went to the warehouses full of artist, but it closed at 6 pm.

Of course there was a party at Ann and Gil's suite.

Jimmy and i took our cigars from the previous nite dinner and order a Tower of Beer.  At 7 pm there was a cool breeze with many children playing soccer in the plaza.

We lit up our cigars and listen to the band playing typical island music.  Then i got into a conversation with two elderly people sitting next to us.  The lady was a Psychiatrist and the man a Publisher from Holland.  We talked about Christopher Columbus and also the 4th Estate.

Then a SURPRISE Gil joined us.  That made my Trip complete.  In Havana, smoking cigars, drinking beer and with my Two Best New Friends from Astoria and Warrenton.  It Does NOT get any better than This !!

A tall guy sat next to us.  He was a ball player from Iceland.  Tall guy with blonde hair and blue eyes talked to Jimmy and i talked to his partner.  I knew a player from MIT that played professional ball in Iceland....Jimmy Bartollota (Brandon's teammate and NE player of the year in D3 hoops)...now there were 5 people talking my favorite sport basketball on our last night in Havana.

at about 9 pm we headed back to the Party in Gil's room.
